A valve orifice member 105 is arranged within the valve body 101 , which forms part of a fluid passage 104 arranged between the inlet 102 and the outlet 103 . A tubular section 106 extends from the valve body 101, and a plunger 107 is configured to move within the tubular section 106 between a first position and a second position in which a mating surface 107a of the plunger 107 engages the valve body. Abstract

The invention discloses a valve for a fluid pump, and the valve comprises a valve body having an inlet and an outlet, wherein the inlet is configured to be in fluid communication with the outlet via a fluid passage disposed between the inlet and the outlet; a valve orifice member disposed within the valve body and forming a portion of a fluid passage disposed between the inlet and the outlet; a tubular section having a first end configured for rigid attachment to a valve body; a plunger, wherein the plunger is configured to: controllably move within the tubular section between at least one of a first position and a second position in response to at least one control signal received from the control module; in the first position, the mating surface of the plunger is configured to sealingly engage with the orifice of the valve orifice member so as to prevent fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet via the fluid passage; in the second position, the mating surface of the plunger is configured to not sealingly engage with the orifice of the valve orifice member so as not to prevent fluid flow from the inlet to the outlet via the fluid passage. The valve orifice member is formed separately from the valve body and is configured to be inserted within the valve body. The first end of the tubular section is configured to press against a valve orifice member within the valve body when the tubular section is rigidly attached to the valve body so as to secure the valve orifice member in position within the valve body.
