Abstract

The invention discloses an efficient data compression method realized based on an FPGA, which comprises the following steps of: inputting data subjected to pulse compression, determining an operation coefficient of logarithm compression according to the bit width and the compression ratio of the input data, establishing an LOG quantizer, and forming a quantization coding table; enabling the data to pass through an LOG quantizer, and outputting a compressed coding value; transmitting the coded value to the ground, and enabling the ground data processing system to decompress the coded value by using the compressed operation coefficient; and finally carrying out imaging and outputting. The compression error of the method is smaller than that of a BAQ algorithm, the high compression ratio of 4: 1 and 2.5: 1 can be achieved through the method, the proportion of occupied FPGA resources is small, and the method is a novel on-orbit enforceable data compression method.
