The display device includes: a substrate including a display area including an emission area and a light blocking area, and a non-display area adjacent to the display area; a thin film transistor layer disposed on the substrate and including a thin film transistor; a light emitting element layer disposed on the thin film transistor layer and including a light emitting element; a wavelength conversion layer provided on the light emitting element layer, the wavelength conversion layer converting a peak wavelength of light from at least a portion of the light emitting element; and a color filter layer disposed on the wavelength conversion layer and including: a color filter corresponding to the emission region; and a first light blocking portion corresponding to the light blocking area and the non-display area. The first light blocking portion has a transmittance of about 80% or more with respect to light having a wavelength of about 1000 nm or more.
