Abstract

The catalyst for treating waste unsym-dimethylhydrazine includes one or several of Pd, Pt and Rh as active component; one or several of IA, IIA, IIIB, VIII and RE elements as assistant; and Al2O3 or SiO2 as carrier. The preparation process includes the main steps of: soaking the carrier with solution containing the active component and assistant; drying and roasting the soaked carrier. The soaking step may be one of carrying active component before carrying assistant or one of carrying active component after carrying assistant. The catalyst may be used in the innocuous treatment of catalytically burning waste unsym-dimethylhydrazine or other hydrazine propellant. The addition of the assistant can improve the reaction and stabilizing performance of the catalyst effectively, and the carrier in the catalyst can raise the utilization of noble metal material effectively.
