Embodiment Construction

[0026] In FIG. 1 , reference numeral 1 designates a simplified putter comprising a head and a cylindrical shaft portion 3 connected to the head 2 . 1 and 2 will be used to illustrate the reflections of the moment of inertia on the putter 1 and how the putter is distributed between the head 2 and the shaft portion 3 . To simplify the description, the moment of inertia of the weight will be substituted for the moment of inertia of the weight below. A handle is provided in a known manner at the free end of the rod-shaped part 1 , but since this handle has only a small influence on the above-mentioned action and has little influence on the result, it is not shown.

[0027] In FIGS. 1 and 2 , the head 2 and the shaft portion 3 have been simplified into an integral right cylindrical shape, thereby simplifying the above-mentioned effects of the moment of inertia of the putter 1 hereinafter.

[0028] During a stroke, the putter 1 rotates about a generally horizontal axis of rotation ...

Abstract

A golf club device, more specially a putter (1), comprising a head (2) and a shaft (3) attached to the head (2), possibly being provided with a grip, wherein the moment of mass inertia of the head (2) constitutes less than seventy-nine per cent of the total moment of inertia of the putter (1) when the putter (1) is rotated about an axis of rotation (4), which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (7) of the shaft (3) and about one hundred and twenty centimeters from the longitudinal axis (5) of the head (2), and / or wherein the mass of the shaft, including a possible displaceable weight (11), divided by the length of the shaft is at lest one hundred and seventy grams per meter of shaft in a shaft which is up to one meter long, and at least one hundred and ninety grams per meter of shaft in a shaft which is longer than one metre.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to golf club apparatus, and more particularly to a putter for putting a golf ball into a hole on the final stroke. Background technique [0002] The purpose of using a putter is to hit the golf ball a relatively short distance, usually a few millimeters to around 30 meters. The putter is provided with a club face, and when the putter hits a golf ball, the club face is close to vertical relative to the ground surface, so that the golf ball rolls along the ground. [0003] Golf clubs used in competition must be shaped according to the rules adopted in the game of golf. Technical solutions are known that can help a player get the best shot, however, the combination of rules allows only limited freedom of movement. [0004] Known golf club optimizations include the face angle, weight and shape of the club head, weight, stiffness and shape of the shaft, the position of the center of gravity of the club head relative to the po...
