Embodiment Construction

[0012] refer to figure 1 , figure 1 A pop-up oven of the present invention is shown. The oven has an aesthetically pleasing housing 10 with a pair of inlet openings 12 on its upper surface 14 through which slices of bread can be inserted into the oven.

[0013] The oven comprises an operating unit inside the housing, the operating unit having an inner chamber formed at least by a front wall 16 , a rear wall 18 and two side walls 20 . Projecting outwardly from the upper edge of the front wall 16 is a flange (not shown) which supports the vertical guide rod 24 . Within chamber 14 there are three spaced apart vertical baking elements 26 . Between the elements 26 there are two carriage units 28 for slices of bread 30 . Each carriage unit 28 includes a narrow vertical carriage plate 28 a whose ends 30 and 32 can slide within vertical slots 34 and 36 in the front wall 16 and rear wall 18 . The bracket plate 28a has spaced lugs 38 bent on each side to provide a sufficiently wide...

Abstract

A pop-up toaster incorporating a carrier means on which a slice of bread may be carried. The carrier means includes a carrier which is movable by an exterior lever between a rest position and a working position and being movable in the opposite direction by biasing means and then being movable to an upper position above the rest position. A dummy club device is connected to the carrier, when the carrier is moved into the upper position, upwardly of the carrier to raise a slice of bread on the carrier means upwardly of the carrier.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to an oven, and more particularly, to a pop-up oven. Background technique [0002] A pop-up oven includes a housing with one or more inlets, usually a pair, on its upper surface. Inside said housing there is an operating unit comprising as many brackets as there are inlets, said brackets being mounted between grilling elements which usually consist of mica or other insulating plates with wires wrapped around them . When in the rest position, each carriage receives a slice of bread introduced by the feed opening. The carriage is moved under spring bias from a rest position to a lowered working position by means of a manual linkage. When in the working position, the carriage is secured by a generally timed latch. At this point, activate the grill element. After the set time, the latch releases the carriage. The carriage with the slices of bread on it returns to its rest position. Normally, the slices will pop out of t...
