SAP channels are mono and relatively low fidelity. SAP can be enabled through a television set, a stereo VCR equipped to receive SAP signals, or a SAP receiver. SAP is part of MTS, the multi-channel television sound standard set by the National Television Systems Committee in the United States. The NTSC video format and MTS are also used in Canada and Mexico, as well as in Japan.
