7 results about "Physical body" patented technology

In common usage, a physical object or physical body (or simply an object or body) is a collection of matter within a defined contiguous boundary in 3-dimensional space. The boundary must be defined and identified by the properties of the material. The boundary may change over time. The boundary is usually the visible or tangible surface of the object. The matter in the object is constrained (to a greater or lesser degree) to move as one object. The boundary may move in space relative to other objects that it is not attached to (through translation and rotation). An object's boundary may also deform and change over time in other ways.

Embodiments presented herein relate to a wearable device (100) for echolocation arranged to be worn by a user. The wearable device includes a processing circuitry adapted to acquire, from at least one microphone operatively connected to the wearable device, a sound signal (S) of the user's footsteps or clapping. The processing circuitry is adapted to acquire, from at least one sensor operatively connected to the wearable device, a sensor reading (T) indicative of the user's footsteps or clapping. Thereafter, a direct sound signal (SDI) that corresponds in time with the sensor reading (T), and a reflected sound signal (SRE) of the user's footsteps or clapping, are identified. Based on the direct sound signal (SD)} and the reflected sound signal (SRE), both originating from the sound signal(S), a distance to at least one physical object (O) in the vicinity of the user is determined.

Augmented reality system and method for collecting custom datasets for 3D hand-object interaction pose estimation

A method and system for hand-object interaction dataset collection is described herein, which is configured to support user-specified collection of hand-object interaction datasets. Such hand-object interaction datasets are useful, for example, for training 3D hand and object pose estimation model. The method and system adopt a sequential process of first recording hand and object pose labels by manipulating a virtual bounding box, rather than a physical object. Naturally, hand-object occlusions do not occur during the manipulation of the virtual bounding box, so these labels are provided with high accuracy. Subsequently, the images are separately captured of the hand-object interaction with the physical object. These images are paired with the previously recorded hand and object pose labels.

Method, apparatus and system for controlling sound generation

The present techniques provide a method, apparatus and system for high-speed acoustic levitation, for example high-speed acoustic holography or other applications. A novel technique is presented that allows high-speed multi-point levitation even in the presence of arbitrary sound-scattering surfaces and demonstrates a process that works in the presence of any physical object. Embodiments provide a simplified approach for determining locations of traps in a working volume which may also be termed an acoustic volume or acoustic chamber. Moreover, embodiments provide an approach for determining the location of traps by determining a contribution of a scattering surface in the working volume and a contribution from a target object in the working volume.
