Curl resistant print media

Print media, when rolled tightly often produces a high degree of curl when removed from a roll form. The stiffer the media, the more likely the tenancy to curl. On the other hand, media that is too thin will be too floppy for conventional handling. Incorporating some stiffening strands running along the axis of a roll of paper substrate allow the media to be roll relatively tightly but give the media a tendency to readily de-curl once it is unrolled. These strands ideally have a pitch of approximately 200 microns. The ribs result in material of greater stiffness across the width of the media than along the length and maintain adequate stiffness for handling and viewing of the printed media.

A high strength specialty paper comprising at least one nonwoven web layer is provided. The nonwoven web layer comprises a plurality of first fibers, a plurality of cellulosic fibers, and a binder. The first fibers comprise a water non-dispersible synthetic polymer and have a different configuration and / or composition than the cellulosic fibers. The first fibers have a length of less than 25 millimeters and a minimum transverse dimension of less than 5 microns. The invention discloses a process for manufacturing flat vulcanized fibre. The process comprises the following steps of: performing gelling treatment on base paper by using solution of zinc chloride according to the preset temperature condition; cramming a plurality of gelled raw vulcanized fibre flat plates into grids to perform ageing treatment; performing desalination on the aged raw vulcanized fibre by using the solution of zinc chloride with degressive relative concentration; and cleaning, drying and shaping the desalted raw vulcanized fibre flat plates sequentially. The manufacturing process can overcome the defects of non-uniform shrinkage, easy deformation, easy cracking, low safety and the like in the prior art so as to realize the advantages of uniform shrinkage, no deformation, no cracking and high safety.

Webs made according to the invention are suitable for making file folders which exhibit improve long term storageability by resisting damage from moisture and / or biological activity.

The invention relates to the technical field of paper making and particularly discloses a method for producing continuous vulcanized fiber paper. The method comprises the following steps: (1) grindingplant fiber finished product pulp through a grinder to loosen the plant fiber pulp; (2) delivering the loosened plant fiber pulp into a zinc chloride solution spray device, performing zinc chloride solution spraying, and performing solid-liquid stirring for 20-40 minutes; (3) performing pulp spraying and press-molding to form a vulcanized fiber paper backing; (4) performing aging treatment; (5) performing desalination treatment; and (6) performing washing, drying and curling to form a vulcanized fiber paper finished product. Furthermore, an existing vulcanized fiber paper production method is overturned, the vulcanized fiber paper is produced directly from paper pulp, the process for producing body paper of vulcanized fiber paper is reduced, and the production flow of vulcanized fiber paper is shortened.
