The fibers are treated with a crosslinking agent to provide at least one of a molecular weight between crosslinks of from about 10 to 200 and a degree of crystallinity of from about 25% to 75%. The crosslinking agent includes citric acid in 1% by weight. The crosslinking agent may further include sodium hypophosphite in 1% by weight. In another embodiment, the crosslinking agent may be a difunctional agent including a glyoxal or a glyoxal-derived resin. In still another embodiment, the crosslinking agent is a multifunctional agent including a cyclic urea, glyoxal, polyol condensate. The crosslinking agent is added in an amount from about 0.001% to 20% by weight based on a total weight of cellulose fibers to be treated and, preferably, in an amount of about 5% by weight.

According to the method, glyoxal is adopted as a raw material, water is adopted as a solvent for preparation of dichloroglyoxime in the step two, and only direct filtration is required in postprocessing, so that the tedious purification process is prevented, and the cost is reduced; and besides, a target product TKX-50 is synthetized through three steps of reactions, the total yield is up to 34%, the reaction condition is mild, the operation is simple and convenient, and the industrialization is easy to realize.

The invention discloses a method for preparing ethyl glycolate. The method comprises the following steps of: refluxing HZSM-5 molecular sieves serving as a raw material in solution of NH4NO3, placing solid phase materials obtained by filtering in an electric resistance furnace for activation to obtain an activating catalyst; performing esterification reaction of aqueous solution of glyoxal serving as a raw material and a C4 to C8 unit alcohol in the presence of the activating catalyst in an atmosphere of nitrogen gas; and collecting a target product of ethyl glycolate from the reaction products. For the obtained ethyl glycolate, the yield is over 75 percent and the purity is over 98 percent. Compared with the prior art, the method uses the glyoxal to replace the glycolic acid as the raw material, thereby greatly lowering material cost, eliminating the self polymerization reaction which is difficultly avoided in the process of the glycolic acid and improving the yield of the target products; and the products obtained by the method is stable in quality, and the method is suitable for industrialized production.
