Extremely fast setting of cementitious compositions for producing cement-based products such as cement boards is made possible by adding an alkanolamine to a hydraulic cement such as portland cement, and forming a slurry with water under conditions that provide an initial slurry temperature of at least 90° F. Use of alkanolamine under conditions disclosed herein allows an extremely rapid setting of the cementitious composition. Additional reactive materials may be included such as high alumina cement, calcium sulfate and a pozzolanic material such as fly ash. The extremely fast rapid set permits rapid production of cementitious products.

A formaldehyde-free aqueous binder composition comprises a binder component (A) obtainable by reacting at least one alkanolamine with at least one carboxylic anhydride and, optionally, treating the reaction product with a base; and a binder component (B) which comprises at least one carbohydrate. In the composition described above, it is preferable that substantially no ammonia is contained.

Compositions useful in semiconductor manufacturing for surface preparation and/or cleaning of wafer substrates such as semiconductor device precursor structures. The compositions can be employed for processing of wafers that have, or are intended to be further processed to include, copper metallization, e.g., in operations such as surface preparation, pre-plating cleaning, post-etching cleaning, and post-chemical mechanical polishing cleaning of semiconductor wafers. A method of making a rapid setting composition for cement boards is disclosed. Compositions including portland cement, fly ash, gypsum, alkanolamine and phosphate are disclosed. A synergistic interaction between the alkanolamine and phosphate increases the effectiveness of accelerating reactions thus allowing for quick setting and increased early-age compressive strength compositions.

The technology is as follows: an SCR denitration method is first used for removing NOX in the flue gas; then a dust collector is used for removing dusts and ash particles in the flue gas; then a wet calcium-based desulphurization method is used for removing SO2 in the flue gas; then an MEA decarburization process is used for absorbing the SO2 in the flue gas; simultaneously, a pregnant solution of a generated alkanolamine solution is heated, analyzed and regenerated and the generated barren solution of the alkanolamine solution is continuously and cyclically used; and the analyzed CO2 gas with high concentration is produced to be liquid carbon dioxide of industrial grade with high purity after being cooled, gas-liquid separated, dried, compressed and condensed. A resist stripping agent comprising a specific alkanolamine having at least one functional group represented by the following formula (I): wherein R<1 >and R<2 >are each hydrogen atom, C1-C8 alkyl or C1-C8 alkenyl. Polyurethane foams prepared according to the invention possess superior physical properties over sprayed polyurethane foams prepared using Mannich condensate polyols which are made using mixtures of propylene oxide and ethylene oxide.

A process for increasing the selectivity of an alkanolamine absorption process for selectively removing hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) from a gas mixture which also contains carbon dioxide (CO₂) and possibly other acidic gases such as COS, HCN, CS₂ and sulfur derivatives of C₁ to C₄ hydrocarbons, comprises contacting the gas mixture with a liquid absorbent which is a severely sterically hindered capped alkanolamine or more basic sterically hindered secondary and tertiary amine. The improvement in selectivity is achieved at the high(er) pressures, typically least about 10 bara at conditions nearing the H₂S/CO₂ equilibrium at which CO₂ begins to displace absorbed hydrosulfide species from the absorbent solution.

A solution for cleaning silicon semiconductors or silicon oxides, and methods for cleaning silicon semiconductors or silicon oxides using the solution, is disclosed. The solution can achieve the efficiency equivalent to that of the conventional RCA two-step cleaning solution within a shorter time by one step preserving the silicon and silicon oxide substrate integrity and effectively remove contaminants such as organics, particles and metals from the surfaces of silicon semiconductors and silicon oxides without using strong acids such as HCl and sulfuric acid.

A process is provided for the start-up of an ethylene epoxidation process comprising: (a) contacting a catalyst bed comprising a high selectivity epoxidation catalyst with a feed comprising ethylene, oxygen and an organic chloride for a period of time until an increase of at least 1×10⁻⁵ mole-% of vinyl chloride (calculated as the moles of vinyl chloride relative to the total gas mixture), preferably 2×10⁻⁵ mole-% of vinyl chloride is detected in a reactor outlet gas or a recycle gas loop; and (b) subsequently adjusting the quantity of organic chloride in the feed to a value sufficient to produce ethylene oxide at a substantially optimum selectivity.
