Preservation by Vaporization

Significant research is being done to develop and improve delivery mechanisms for biopharmaceuticals and vaccines, including pulmonary (inhalation), nasal, transdermal, and oral alternatives. Market projections indicate that the delivery of proteins and vaccines by inhalation and oral formulation has become and will continue to be increasingly important. These delivery mechanisms, to be effective, will require better stabilization of the biologicals so that they can maintain potency and effectiveness at ambient temperatures for extended periods of time. The novel Preservation by Vaporization (PBV) Technology described herein provides cost-effective and efficient industrial scale stabilization of proteins, viruses, bacteria, and other sensitive biologicals, thereby allowing a production of products that are not possible to be produced by existing methods. The suggested new PBV process comprises primary drying under vacuum from a partially frozen state (i.e. slush) at near subzero temperatures followed by stability drying at elevated temperatures (i.e., above 40 degrees Celsius). The new suggested method can be performed aseptically in unit doze format (in vials) and/or in bulk format (in trays, bags, or other containers). The drying can be performed as a continuous load process in a manifold vacuum dryer comprising a plurality (e.g., 30) of vacuum chambers attached to a condenser during the drying.

Middle or large-sized battery module

Disclosed herein is a middle- or large-sized battery module including two or more unit modules each having one or more plate-shaped battery cells, as unit cells, surrounded by a high-strength sheathing member made of synthetic resin or metal, and separable upper and lower frame members coupled with each other in an assembly-type coupling structure such that the unit modules are vertically mounted in the upper and lower frame members. The present invention has the effect of easily mounting a sensing unit that is capable of minimizing the weight and size of battery cells while effectively reinforcing the low mechanical strength of the battery cells and sensing the operation state of the battery cells to a middle- or large-sized battery module. In addition, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing the battery module by a simple assembly process without using a plurality of members for mechanical coupling and electrical connection, thereby decreasing the manufacturing costs of the battery module, and effectively preventing the battery module from being short-circuited or damaged during the manufacture or the operation of the battery module. Furthermore, the present invention has the effect of manufacturing a middle- or large-sized battery system having desired output and capacity using the battery module as a unit body.

Device and method for evaluating oil paper insulation aging and predicting service life of transformer

The invention discloses a device and a method for evaluating oil paper insulation aging and predicting the service life of a transformer, and belongs to the technical field of transformers of an electrical power system. The device comprises a long-term aging device, a polymerization degree test device, a tearing strength test device and the like. An accelerated aging test is performed in the long-term aging device at the temperature of 130 DEG C with an oil paper mass ratio of 20:1; furfuraldehyde content in oil and polymerization degree of a piece of insulation paper are measured; the insulation paper is subjected to a mechanical strength test; the concentration change of furfuraldehyde in oil during a process of insulation paper aging is analyzed; the paper and water content during a paperboard aging process are tested; and gas content in oil is tested. Most of transformers are subjected to insulation aging and quit operation primarily due to the fact that the mechanical strength of the insulation paper is lowered and cannot support sufficient insulation. The device and the method which are provided by the invention can evaluate the insulation state of the transformer and predict the residual operation life of the power transformer. Therefore, the examination and repair can be reasonably arranged according to the equipment aging condition, the optimization of equipment use ratio is facilitated; and the management level of power enterprises is improved.
