These grooves are used to accommodate the rolling elements of the universal joint. Here, the cage has six (6) grooves 2, but could also be four (4) or eight (8). Usually each groove 2 is shaped such that the rolling elements therein can always move sufficiently under load. The positioning of a plurality of rolling elements in one groove 2 is also realized. A different configuration of the ball cage 1 can then be used.
