Problems solved by technology

[0002] Camellia oleifera is an important economic tree species in the subtropical region of China and one of the four major woody oil tree species in the world. Camellia oil is a popular high-grade edible oil with broad market prospects and huge economic development potential. The state of natural reproduction and extensive management has caused the species to degenerate and the yield is very low. The oil yield per mu of Camellia oleifera is only about 5Kg. The fundamental way out for the production of Camellia oleifera is to improve the variety

Embodiment Construction

[0016] Below in conjunction with specific embodiment, the present invention is described in detail as follows:

[0017] In 1974, we selected excellent Camellia oleifera strains from ordinary Camellia oleifera forests according to the following criteria: (1) Fruit yield per unit area crown width ≥ 2Kg / m 2 , (2) diseased fruit rate, diseased leaf rate ≤ 3%, (3) skin thickness ≤ 3mm, (4) branch angle ≥ 30 °, (5) annual variation of yield size ≤ 40%.

[0018] In 1978, we selected two optimal single plants No. 76-10 and No. 77-2 from Changde County as parent plants. No. 76-10 has a high fruit setting rate, medium fruit size, thin skin, and high oil yield. Anthracnose-resistant; No. 77-2 has large fruit, medium fruit setting rate and oil yield, and is also resistant to anthracnose. The characteristics of hybrid parents are compared in the following table:

Abstract

A breeding method of a hybrid oiltea camellia variety comprises the following steps: (1) selecting good oiltea camellia strains from common oiltea camellias; (2) selecting two preferable strains with a characteristic of typical complementary advantages from a plurality of good strains, hybridizing the two preferable strains, performing an artificially controlled pollination, and preferably selecting 100-200 hybrid seeds from fruits of the two preferable strains; (3) seeding the hybrid oiltea camellia seeds next year, screening and eliminating nursery stocks year by year according to growth statuses and disease conditions, and determining an optimal strain as a maternal plant; and (4) performing cottage reproduction or grafting reproduction by branches or seedlings of the maternal plant to culture big seedlings which can afforest a mountain. The method has the advantages that: 1. two good strains are taken as the parent strains, and the variety obtained by artificial pollination, hybridization and long-term breeding has good and stable quality; 2. the variety has compact tree form, big and dark green leaves, and thick and sturdy branches, and belongs to a high and stable yield type; and 3. the variety has good disease resistance, and the leaves and the fruits have few diseases.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the breeding of hybrid varieties, that is, a breeding method of hybrid camellia oleifera varieties. Background technique [0002] Camellia oleifera is an important economic tree species in the subtropical region of China and one of the four major woody oil tree species in the world. Camellia oil is a popular high-grade edible oil with broad market prospects and huge economic development potential. The state of natural reproduction and extensive management has caused the species to degenerate and the output is very low. The oil yield per mu of Camellia oleifera is only about 5Kg. The fundamental way out for the production of Camellia oleifera is to improve the species. Contents of the invention [0003] In order to overcome the shortcomings of natural seed propagation, extensive management and low yield of current Camellia oleifera varieties, the present invention proposes a breeding method for hybrid Camellia oleifera varieti...
