The invention discloses a
grafting cultivation
domestication method for
camphor trees suitable for growing in north, and relates to the technical field of tree
seedling cultivation. The method includes the steps: 1) selecting a
seedling nursery, uniformly spreading crushed straws into a land for growing field crops by the thickness of about 15cm, performing deep
tillage and ridging, and ditching ridges for rooting by 15-20cm; 2) selecting scions and two-year or more than two-year lignified
camphor branches, straight snipping two-leaf branches by 10-15cm, bundling the two-leaf branches into small bundles, dipping rooting agents and then immediately implanting the two-leaf branches into soil by the row spacing of 20-30cm; 3) immediately covering mulching films after implanting the two-leaf branches, timely performing broad
irrigation and pouring water over the
seedling nursery; 4) selecting and reserving high-quality sprouts to serve as scions after sprout; 5) taking wild glossy privets in areas to the north of the Huaihe River as tree stocks and performing
grafting by a conventional method in April of the next year; 6) performing secondary
grafting domestication, taking wild
evergreen trees in the areas to the north of the Huaihe River as tree stocks, taking
camphor tree seedlings survived by grafting in the next year as the scions, shearing twigs into 5-7cm sections and grafting the sections by the conventional method; 7)
transplanting the camphor tree seedlings survived by secondary grafting in fixed holes. The method is simple, facilitated in practical operation, and has
high rate of survival, and the cultivated camphor trees can normally grow in northern areas with good
disease-resistant and drought-resistant ability.
