The invention discloses a charging control method and a bandwidth access server thereof. The method comprises the following steps: a bandwidth access server (BRAS) transmits a single-user charging message to a remote authentication dial in user service (radius) server, wherein the single-user charging message is used for indicating the radius server to charge a user; and if the BRAS doesn't receive a response to the single -user charging message from the radius server within a predetermined period, the BRAS transmits a user offline message to the radius server, wherein the user offline message is used for indicating the radius server to stop charging the user. The invention enables the bandwidth access server (BRAS) to transmit the user offline message to the radius server after the transmission of the single-user charging message is failed, and solves the problems of single charging mode, inaccurate charging and damage to operator's benefit in the prior art, thereby achieving the effect charging management with high accuracy and flexibility.
