In practice, using a spring with a relatively low spring rate can lead to regulator noise (eg bung noise) and reduce the overall performance of the fluid regulator

[0020] Certain examples are shown in the above-identified figures and described in detail below. In describing these examples, similar or identical reference numerals are used to indicate common or similar elements. The figures are not necessarily drawn to scale and certain views and certain features in the figures may be exaggerated in scale or schematic for clarity and / or conciseness. Additionally, several examples have been described throughout the specification. Any feature from any example may be substituted for or combined with other features from other examples.

[0021] The example fluid control devices described herein use multiple relatively small, stacked diaphragms to provide substantially the same diaphragm as certain known fluid control devices having a single diaphragm, such as fluid regulators. Effective area. Additionally, the example fluid control device described herein may be configured to apply substantially the same resultant force to, for example, a r...

Abstract

Diaphragm assemblies for use with fluid control devices are described. An example diaphragm assembly includes a body defining a plurality of chambers to be fluidly coupled to an outlet pressure of a fluid control device. Each of the chambers is spaced along a stem at least partially disposed in the chambers, and the stem is to move to control a flow of fluid through the fluid control device. Additionally, the example diaphragm assembly includes a first plurality of diaphragms, each of which is disposed in a corresponding one of the chambers, and each of which is coupled to the stem to move the stem in response to the outlet pressure of the fluid control device.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to diaphragm assemblies, and more particularly to diaphragm assemblies for fluid control devices. Background technique [0002] In the transfer of fluids for the control of industrial processes and the like, it is often necessary to transfer fluids at relatively high pressures through portions of distribution systems or processes that require high volumes or flow rates of process fluids. As the high pressure process fluid flows through the distribution system or process, the pressure of the process fluid may be reduced at one or more locations to provide a small volume of process fluid at a low pressure to a subsystem using or consume the process fluid. [0003] Pressure reducing fluid regulators are typically used to reduce and control the pressure of process fluids. Typically, pressure reducing fluid regulators vary the restriction through a valve that is inserted in series in the fluid flow path. In this ma...
