Benefits of technology

This patented process improves upon previous methods by changing their practice or increasing its success rates at least once per year. It also provides guidance on how well it works with other techniques like tissue engineering.

Problems solved by technology

This patented describes different ways how we grow new fruits from roots called cuttings or root stocks. However, these techniques have limitations when applied on certain types of crops like tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum), citrus peels, watermelons, etc., which makes them difficult to reproduce correctly with existing means. Additionally, current methods involve harvesting entire branches off at once during transplanting, causing damage even if done carefully beforehand.

Embodiment Construction

[0026] see figure 1 , novel grafting method, is characterized in that, comprises the following steps:

[0027] 1) Rootstock treatment

[0028] Select the grafting position at the smooth and straight place of the rootstock 4, and drill holes through a punching machine to form a threaded hole 3 of a certain size. The nominal diameter of the threaded hole 3 is 1 / 5 to 2 / 3 of the diameter of the stock 4, and the thread The depth of the hole 3 is 3-15 cm.

[0029] 2) scion treatment

[0030] Select fresh branches as the scion 1, and tap at the bottom of the joint 1 to form a screw-shaped joint 2 with the same thread size as the rootstock 4 threaded holes 3;

[0031] The tapping operation is performed by such as image 3 The rotary sleeve 5 shown is processed and formed, and the rotary sleeve 5 is provided with a thread 6 inside.

[0032] 3) Grafting

[0033] Screw the screw-shaped joint 2 of the scion 1 into the threaded hole 3 of the rootstock 4 completely.

Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of optimization of grafted varieties and particularly relates to a novel grafting method which comprises the following steps of: 1) understock treatment, i.e. selecting a grafting position at the smooth and straight part of understock, and drilling a hole so as to form a threaded hole of a certain size; 2) scion treatment, i.e. selecting a fresh branch as a scion, and tapping at the bottom of the scion so as to form a screw-shaped joint which has the same size as that of the thread of the threaded hole of the understock; and 3) grafting, i.e. completely screwing the screw-shaped joint of the scion into the threaded hole of the understock. The novel grafting method has the advantages that the bias of a traditional technology is overcome, an original grafting implementation method is changed, and the survival rate of grafting reaches above 95%, thus the novel grafting method has a remarkable guiding significance for the development of the grafting technology. The grafting method can be widely applied to the field of breeding of fruit trees, forestry and flowers; and the grafting method is not limited by regions, so that the grafting method can be used for changing mountain forest into fruit bearing forest within a short period of time and changing a city into a large garden within a short period of time, thus the significance is profound significance.
