Process for desulfurizing hydrocarbon fuels and fuel components

Processes are disclosed for removing sulfur, including cyclic and polycyclic organic sulfur components such as thiophenes and benzothiophenes, from a hydrocarbon feedstock including fuels and fuel components. The feedstock is contacted with a regenerable sorbent material capable of selectively adsorbing the sulfur compounds present in the hydrocarbon feedstock in the absence of a hydrodesulfurization catalyst. In one embodiment, the sorbent can be an active metal oxide sulfur sorbent in combination with a refractory inorganic oxide cracking catalyst support. In another embodiment, the sorbent can be a metal-substituted refractory inorganic oxide cracking catalyst wherein the metal is a metal which is capable in its oxide form, of adsorption of reduced sulfur compounds by conversion of the metal oxide to a metal sulfide. The processes are preferably carried out in a transport bed reactor.

In the method, a solid-liquid fluidized bed is used as a crystal reactor; a certain amount of calcium fluoride seed crystal is added into the reactor; the fluorine-containing waste water and a calcium-containing precipitator are delivered into a treatment device of the solid-liquid fluidized bed in a reacting ratio to ensure that fluorinions are precipitated on the surface of the calcium fluoride seed crystal; the prepared sand-shaped calcium fluoride precipitated slurry after precipitation is reclaimed; and primarily treated water is subjected to flocculent precipitation further to meet the emission standard. By adopting the method, most fluorinions can be precipitated in the crystallization and precipitating process in the fluidized bed, the generated sand-shaped calcium fluoride has low content of water and high content of calcium fluoride and can be used as fluorine resources for recycling; and in the flocculent precipitating process of the primarily treated water, the consumption of the fluorescent is low, and the yield of slurry is low. Therefore, the comprehensive cost for waste watertreatment is low.

The method belongs to one of a liquid-phase method; each element is at an ion or molecule state in a synthesizing process and the mixing is more uniform; on the basis of the existing liquid-phase method, the synthesizing time is further shortened, a production process is simplified and the cost is reduced; and the nano grade and the purity of a synthesized product are high, the grain diameter is 10-400 nm and the electrochemical performance is good.

The nano compound reduces the water solubility of the ammonium polyphosphate, has the function of improving the flame-retardant effect in inflaming retarding of polymer materials, and has the advantages of simple preparation technology and raw materials and low cost.

A process is provided to produce bulk quantities of nanowires in a variety of semiconductor materials. Thin films and droplets of low-melting metals such as gallium, indium, bismuth, and aluminum are used to dissolve and to produce nanowires. The dissolution of solutes can be achieved by using a solid source of solute and low-melting metal, or using a vapor phase source of solute and low-melting metal. The resulting nanowires range in size from 1 nanometer up to 1 micron in diameter and lengths ranging from 1 nanometer to several hundred nanometers or microns. This process does not require the use of metals such as gold and iron in the form of clusters whose size determines the resulting nanowire size. In addition, the process allows for a lower growth temperature, better control over size and size distribution, and better control over the composition and purity of the nanowire produced therefrom.

The method is simple in extraction process and low in cost, and is suitable for intermittent and scale production processing of high-purity and high-yield spirulina phycocyanin finished product. The phycocyanin coarse extract can be stored for a long time, and the phycocyanin finished product which is prepared by further purification has excellent antioxidant free radical scavenging effect and fluorescent strength.
