Abstract

The present invention relates to a linkage that provides a flat reclined position. The linkage includes a lie-flat lift link pivotally coupled to the seat support link. The back support link is coupled to the lift link via an oblong aperture to provide additional range of motion. The lift link includes a laterally extending flange whose outer perimeter serves as a cam surface for a cam pin that resists reclining of the backrest support link when the rocker-recliner is in the upright position. When fully reclined, the linkage configures the footrest, seat portion and backrest portion in substantially equal planes to provide a flat seating surface.
