Problems solved by technology

[0005] Furthermore, touch-sensing devices on the market have a common problem of false activations
For example, when a user's hand or other body part inadvertently approaches the touch area or water droplets fall on the touch area, it may cause false activation, which is inconvenient for the user

Embodiment Construction

[0026] As used herein and in the claims, "comprising" means including the following elements but not excluding other elements.

[0027] As used herein and in the claims, "coupled" or "connected" means electrically coupled or connected, directly or indirectly, by one or more electrical means, unless stated otherwise.

[0028] now refer to figure 1 , which shows a top view of the sensing device in the first embodiment of the present invention. In the center of the sensing device there is a display unit 20 which displays information to the user. In one embodiment, the display unit 20 is an LCD display and is capable of displaying time, graphics, text and symbols. Around the display unit 20, on top of the capacitive sensor there are a plurality of sensing pads 22, which are able to detect changes in capacitance. In a typical embodiment, the capacitance varies within a predetermined range of 4-30 pF. In an exemplary embodiment, the sensing pad 22 of the capacitive sensor is opt...

Abstract

The present invention relates to a hand-worn device with finger activation and control mechanisms, and discloses a sensing device comprising a capacitive sensor for detecting capacitance variation and converting the capacitance variation into a first electrical signal; a piezoelectric sensor for detecting physical shock and converting the physical shock into a second electrical signal; and a display unit; wherein the information displayed on the display unit is controlled by the first electrical signal and the second electrical signal. The thickness and area of the capacitive sensor are designed to be optimal such that the sensing device has a highly reliable sensibility. In addition to the capacitive sensor, the sensing device of the present invention further includes a piezoelectric sensor for detecting physical shock, providing an alternate sensing technique for the users to choose.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Application Serial No. 61491335 filed May 31, 2011 pursuant to 35 USC § 119(e), which is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety. technical field [0003] The present invention relates to sensing devices, and more particularly to a capacitively sensitive / vibration sensitive touch / click activated device. Background technique [0004] Today, touch-sensing devices are becoming more common and are replacing traditional devices that utilize push button switches to select and control device functions. Capacitive sensors are commonly used in touch sensing devices. However, as device size continues to decrease, the surface area of capacitive sensors does not decrease at the same rate, which means that the number of sensors decreases. It is desirable to have a device that allows a user to operate in multiple ways. [0005] Furthermore, touch-sensing devices on ...
