Embodiment Construction

[0014] The present disclosure relates to a wearable computing device. The wearable device includes a bone conduction transducer, an extension arm, a light-through hole and a flexible touchpad input circuit. When the user wears the device, the transducer contacts the user's head at a location close to the user's skull. The extension arm extends from the side arm of the device and the display is attached to the free end of the extension arm. The distance of the display relative to the user can be adjusted by pivoting the extension arm about the axis so that the user can view the display in an optimal position. The light aperture may include a light emitting diode and a flash that may be used in conjunction with the camera. The flexible touchpad input circuit may be adhered to at least one side arm such that no parting line is provided between an edge of the circuit and a surface of the corresponding side arm.

Abstract

A wearable computing device includes a bone conduction transducer, an extension arm, a light pass hole, and a flexible touch pad input circuit. When a user wears the device, the transducer contacts the user's head. A display is attached to a free end of an extension arm. The extension arm is pivotable such that a distance between the display and the user's eye is adjustable to provide the display at an optimum position. The light pass hole may include a light emitting diode and a flash. The touch pad input circuit may be adhered to at least one side arm such that parting lines are not provided between edges of the circuit and the side arm.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application is a continuation of US Patent Application No. 13 / 343,313, filed January 4, 2012, entitled "Wearable Computing Device," the entire contents of which are hereby incorporated by reference. Background technique [0003] A personal video or image display is a device that is used to display images received from a source for viewing by a single user. Such a device may be in the form of a head-mounted display that is worn on the user's head and includes one or more image sources positioned above or in front of the user's eyes. A head-mounted display may include an image source located near and associated with each eye of a user or wearer, and may be configured to present the same image, viewable as a single two-dimensional image. Alternatively, some such devices may be configured to present different stereoscopic images, which are perceived by the viewer as a single three-dimensional image. Regardless of the...
