Examples
example 16-22
[0156] Non-aerosol shave formulation Examples 16-22 were prepared by weighing out the water and glycerin in a container large enough to hold the entire kettle charge. Insert an overhead stirrer with impeller into the vessel and increase agitation to create a vortex. The cellulose thickener and PEG polymer powders were premixed, then the polymer blend was sprinkled into a vortex until dispersed. Reduce agitation to avoid aeration. Begin heating the kettle charge to 80°C. Fatty acids, olein and oligomer blends are added. Mix until smooth and melted. Continue heating to 80°C. Once the pot charge is at least 80°C, add TEA and mix until uniform and dispersed. Add potassium hydroxide and mix until uniform and dispersed. Begin cooling of the kettle charge to below 45°C. Once below 45°C, fragrances, preservatives, soaps and other temperature sensitive additives are added. Cool to below 35°C, and add water to an appropriate amount.
