A failure information management system includes a failure information management apparatus; and a device. The failure information management apparatus includes an accepting unit, a managing unit, a generating unit, and an output unit. The accepting unit accepts an input for generating failure information on a failure that has occurred in the device. The managing unit manages the failure information generated based on the input accepted by the accepting unit. The generating unit generates display information indicating that the failure indicated by the failure information is managed by the failure information management apparatus.
