Abstract

The invention discloses a park and ride facility optimal siting and capacity determining method based on rail transit, which is capable of improving the share rate of public transport by joint optimization of siting and capacity, therefore reducing the total number of motor vehicles into a central business district, and easing the urban traffic congestion. For more reasonable planning of park and ride facilities, the invention determines an optimal site for and the capacity of each park and ride facility by establishing a bilevel mathematical programming model in a multimode transport network and using a joint traffic modal split and traffic assignment model at the lower level, and can solve the above models by applying a heuristic genetic algorithm. Finally, the optimal site for and the corresponding capacity of each park and ride facility in the network are obtained.
