Patient monitors 12 each monitor one or more physiological parameters from a patient associated with patient monitor 12 . Each of the patient monitors 12 may communicate with the processor via wired or wireless communication paths. Each of patient monitors 12 is configured to monitor one or more physiological parameters and to generate an alarm signal when any of the monitored physiological parameters violates an alarm threshold. Alarm thresholds can be set in each of the patient monitors 12 . Alternatively, the alarm threshold can be set in the processor 14, which communicates with each of the individual patient monitors 12 to receive data related to the monitored physiological parameters.
