A method and apparatus for generating a moving photograph are disclosed herein. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for generating a moving picture comprises the following steps of: displaying a subject photographed by a camera; converting the subject into a moving picture mode by a user input; sequentially photographing pictures with respect to the displayed subject by using a photographing mode provided in the moving picture mode; and generating a moving image with respect to the displayed subject by using the sequentially photographed pictures.
