Abstract

A method for providing a scalable solution for discovery message size includes determining the capsule size on a layer-one protocol of a user equipment operating in a cellular network. forwarding the capsule size to a layer two protocol of the user equipment, where the capsule size is adjusted to accommodate layer two overhead. Then, the adjusted capsule size is forwarded to the layer three protocol.
