Abstract

The invention discloses a PGW switching method for maintaining business continuity. The method comprises the following steps: a MME determines a target PGW and a target SGW, the MME sends a first session creating request containing a downlink endpoint address of the first S1 bearer to the target SGW so that the target SGW and the target SGW respectively configure the endpoint address of the second S1 bearer and the endpoint address of the second S5/S8 bearer, and distribute a second IP address for the UE; the MME sends the second IP address to the UE through eNB after receiving a first session creating response containing by the second IP address sent by the target SGW; the eNB modifies the S1 bearer of a uplink data channel as the second S1 bearer from the first S1 bearer after the UE resets the IP address. The invention further provides related communication equipment capable of realizing above mentioned method. The business continuity can be maintained when the PGW is switched by use of the method disclosed by the invention.
