The invention provides a method for determining the plugging strength for in-fracture temporary plugging and deflection. The method comprises the steps of collecting data of a target reservoir, which are relevant with different opening mode calculating models of natural fractures; based on different opening mode calculating models of interaction of natural fractures and hydraulic fractures, acquiring multiple kinds of static pressure p1 required for opening each natural fracture in the target reservoir in different modes; optimizing the acquired multiple kinds of static pressure p1 to obtain the optimum static pressure p1'; calculating the static pressure p2 which can be achieved in manual fractures when in-fracture temporary plugging is not performed; determining that the plugging strength for in-fracture temporary plugging and deflection is the difference between p1' and p2. The method can guide field staff to determine the plugging strength required for in-fracture temporary plugging and deflection rapidly and conveniently, so that wells can be selected more reliably and the formulas and consumption quantities of temporary plugging agents can be selected optimally.
