Abstract

When the computing device is in an idle state, the computing device updates wireless connectivity information in anticipation of user interaction. For example, power to wireless network circuitry in a mobile device is suspended when the mobile device is in an idle state. Upon detection of movement of the mobile device, a location sensor is activated to read the current location of the mobile device while power to the wireless network circuitry is suspended. Without user interaction with a virtual feature of the device, based on the current location being a threshold distance from a location determined prior to suspending power to the wireless network circuit, the wireless network circuit is activated and determined to be at the wireless network circuit list of current wireless access points in the vicinity of the mobile device.
