Abstract

A method and device for preventing engine compression autoignition of a mild hybrid electric vehicle. The method includes the following steps: determining whether the ignition switch is set to the OFF position; and determining engine stop conditions when the ignition switch is set to the OFF position. whether it is satisfied; when the engine stop condition is met, determine the target time point to complete the rotation of the mild hybrid starter and generator (MHSG) based on the engine speed; and control the MHSG from the time point when the engine stop condition is met to the target time point to reduce engine speed.
