Benefits of technology

The technology described by this patented helps save both time for assigning frequencies on networks while preventing them from being blocked or transmitting data efficiently without effectively managing their use. It does this by automatically categorizing signals based upon factors like frequency usage levels that affect how well they're used during communication sessions (called trigger). This reduces unnecessary bandwidth consumption and increases efficiency with regards to spectral management.

Problems solved by technology

This patents discuss how advancing networking capabilities requires efficient use of spectral resources while avoiding overload or underutilized ones due to changes in demand patterns caused by varying demands during different periods of activity. Current methods like BFD only prioritizes assigning specific frequencies based on expected traffic needs without considering future potential impacts on these allocations. Additionally, previous proposals either limit the number of spectra available within certain ranges or allocate unnecessary portions of spectrum space beforehand instead of optimizing its performance. There is therefore a technical challenge related to developing effective techniques for dynamically adjusting spectrum assignment strategies depending on actual customer connections' request and availability.

Embodiment Construction

[0024] The invention will be further described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings and specific embodiments.

[0025] like figure 1 , figure 2 , image 3 As shown, considering that the ports of commercial optical network equipment in the existing network are mainly 100G and 40G, combined with the forward error correction scheme, the maximum increase in redundancy overhead is about 25%. Therefore, the minimum frequency slot unit in an elastic optical network can be set to 12.5GHz, and the number of frequency slots required for a single service request generally does not exceed 10; Discuss the following three situations: and

Abstract

The invention discloses a spectrum defragmentation trigger method based on spectrum sensing in an elastic optical network. The spectrum defragmentation trigger method comprises the following steps that step (1): the spectrum availability before defragmentation and the business demand degree are calculated; step (2): the spectrum availability before defragmentation and the business demand degree are compared, and spectrum defragmentation is not required when the spectrum availability before defragmentation is greater than or equal to the business demand degree; and the spectrum availability after defragmentation is calculated when the spectrum availability before defragmentation is less than the business demand degree, and the step (3) is performed; and step (3): the spectrum availability after defragmentation is compared with the business demand degree, and the spectrum defragmentation mechanism is triggered when the spectrum availability after defragmentation is greater than or equalto the business demand degree; and spectrum defragmentation is not required when the spectrum availability after defragmentation is less than the business demand degree. The spectrum defragmentation trigger method has the advantages of increasing the success rate of network business transmission, reducing network business blocking rate and enhancing the network resource utilization efficiency.
