Problems solved by technology

[0013] In view of the above shortcomings and problems existing in the prior art literature, there is an urgent need to provide a technique to solve the network balance problem under non-uniform node distribution, because current routing protocols do not have any metrics / constraints to actively handle network imbalance

Abstract

In one embodiment, the present application provides a mechanism for balancing improvised network construction. In order to achieve a balanced impromptu network configuration, the application sends metric information and DIO control messages. A new type of metric container is introduced in RPL to store the metric information, select the parent node with the minimum path cost, and switch to the parent node with the minimum path cost according to the defined logic. Stateless metrics assume that each node has approximately the same average traffic. The stateless metric directly utilizes the number of routing table entries (RT size ) determines the path to use. In stateful metrics, nodes record the packets they process per second. For stateful metrics, a node maintains a variable packet processing rate (PPR) and uses it as a metric.

Description

[0001] This application is a continuation of the international application IN201641000628 filed on January 7, 2016. The disclosures of the aforementioned applications are incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0002] The present application relates generally to routing packets in wireless networks, and more particularly to an apparatus, system, and method for balancing improvised network configurations to extend network lifetime. Background technique [0003] The Internet of Things (IoT) enables all general-purpose devices / appliances and sensors / actuators to be connected to the Internet, so that there can be better control in terms of monitoring and commanding these devices at any time and any place. An example is building automation, where all sensors (fire sensors, temperature sensors, etc.), light fixtures, room curtains, door locks are connected to the internet and can be controlled remotely / locally with a mobile app or any other convenient device. These de...
