Abstract

The binder for inorganic fibers is characterized by comprising the components of (A), 100 by mass parts of water-soluable high-molecular compound; and (B), more than 3 by mass parts of an ammonia modifier which comprises a copolymer of Maleic anhydride. The binder for the inorganic fibers according to the invention can be used for manufacturing the inorganic fiber mat with restoring rate which is next to that of phenol formaldehyde resin.
