Abstract

The invention discloses a cultivation method for promoting biannual growth and flowering of Pontederia cordata. The method comprises the following steps: A, trimming: 1) the trimming time during the sharp decrease of the flower quantity and yellowing or withering of plant eaves after the full flowering stage and from mid-to-late July to mid-to-late August; 2) the stubble height; and B, later cultivation: 1) nutrient management: fertilization after trimming, wherein a composite fertilizer N + P2O5 + K2O is adopted during the fertilization; 2) pest and disease prevention and control; 3) water level management: the water level after the trimming and before primary fertilization is lower than the plant stubble height, or dry and wet alternating characterized by irrigation, natural falling drying, irrigation, fertilization ad pesticide application; and 4)) flower formation promoting measure.
