Abstract

The annual efficient propagation method comprises the following steps: taking fresh zizania latifolia fleshy stems as foodstuff; raising chilo suppressalis larvae in a special culture box, inducing larva to pupate, and mating and spawning after eclosion. By adopting the method to carry out special annual preservation and propagation of the chilo suppressalis strains, the raising temperature of the larvae is 26 DEG C when the strains are preserved; the generation duration is 41.5 days, and the population size of 1200 larvae can be maintained with only a small amount of labor; the raising temperature of the larvae is 29 DEG C when the strains are propagated, the generation duration is 32.4 days, andthe population size can be expanded about 40 times through one generation.
