Abstract

The invention discloses a brown planthopper NlAtg1 gene and application thereof and an encoded protein and application thereof. The nucleotide sequence of the NlAtg1 gene is shown as SEQ ID NO: 1, themitochondrial structure and function of the brown planthopper can be influenced when the function of the gene is inhibited, so that the survival rate of the brown planthopper is reduced. The amino acid sequence of the protein encoded by the NlAtg1 gene is shown as SEQ ID NO: 2. According to the application of the NlAtg1 gene or protein, the NlAtg1 gene or protein can be used for developing a novel RNA insecticide in brown planthopper prevention and treatment or researching and developing a pesticide taking the NlAtg1 protein as a target. The RNA interference is successfully carried out on thegene; the result shows that the survival rate of pests is reduced; since RNA interference fragments can be specifically designed for species, the killing of non-target organisms is expected to be reduced while the pests are inhibited. The formed insecticide is an environment-friendly insecticide.
