Abstract

Disclosed are a device, system, and method protect circuits of a lighting device. The lighting device includes a current source generating a current and a first load and a second load receiving the current. The lighting device includes an inductor positioned between the current source and the first and second loads that balances the current powering the first and second loads. The lighting device includes a detector monitoring a voltage peak of the first 5 and second loads. The lighting device includes a voltage controller receiving a reading of the voltage peak from the detector and determining when the voltage peak is at least a voltage peak threshold. The voltage controller is configured to adjust a setting for the current generated by the current source based on the reading of the voltage peak.
