Embodiment Construction

[0058] A method for enabling dynamic modification of the functionality of an RTC session is presented. An embodiment may add an algorithm as a virtual participant to an RTC session.

[0059] Such a proposal may thus facilitate simple and intuitive addition, removal or modification of functionality of an RTC session, and this may eg be done taking into account the context of the RTC session.

[0060] Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention aim to enable modification, extension and / or improvement of the functionality of an RTC system while the RTC system is implementing an RTC session. Furthermore, embodiments may aim to enable relevant or important functionality to be provided at appropriate timing during an RTC session. Thus, embodiments may, for example, aid in clinical support assessment, medical diagnosis and / or support planning.

[0061] Furthermore, embodiments may be utilized in conjunction with face-to-face interactions to provide supplemental functionality ...

Abstract

Presented are approaches for dynamic modification of the functionality of a RTC session including one or more data streams between participants to the real-time communication session (100). Embodiments of the present invention are therefore directed toward enabling the functionality of a RTC system to be modified, extended and / or improved while it is implementing a RTC session. Exemplary embodiments include: identifying a request for a first algorithm (A1) of a set of algorithms (A1, A2, A3); and dynamically modifying the functionality of the real-time communications session by adding the first algorithm (A1) to the real-time communication session (100) as a virtual participant employing at least one data stream out of the one or more data streams.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to the field of real-time communications (RTC), and more particularly to the functionality of RTC sessions. Background technique [0002] US 2015 / 002619 discloses a scalable Web Real-Time Communication (WebRTC) media engine, and related methods, systems and computer-readable media. [0003] WO 2019 / 070822 discloses collaboration via chat in healthcare systems. [0004] Real-time communication (RTC) is the nearly simultaneous exchange of information over any type of telecommunication service from a sender to a receiver over a connection with negligible delay. Examples of RTC typically employ real-time data streams (eg, video, voice, and / or data streaming), and include: voice over landline and mobile phones; VoIP; video and teleconferencing; chat; Thus, RTC does not include email, bulletin boards, messaging applications, blogs, or other forms of Internet communication where users read stored content, which can create signi...
