Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a fluid pump having a pump housing, a top cover securable to an upper end of the pump housing and having an air intake port and a fluid discharge port. The fluid discharge tube extends near the lower end of the pump housing. A one-way check valve is disposed adjacent a lower end of the pump and forms a one-way path during a fill cycle of operation of the pump to allow fluid to enter the pump housing. A one-way check valve at the discharge port permits fluid to be released during the discharge cycle. An auger element is disposed inside the pump housing for initiating a vortex, rotating a fluid flow during a fluid injection cycle in response to a jet of compressed air released into the pump housing, in which fluid that has been collected within the pump housing is forced into the discharge tube by the jet of compressed air and upwardly through the discharge tube, and the fluid that has been collected within the pump housing is forced into the discharge tube by the jet of compressed air.
