[0056] see figure 1 , The drum implementing the present invention includes a shell 1 , a drum surface 2 , a rim 3 and a tension adjuster 5 . The rim 3 is sometimes referred to as a "hoop". The drumhead 2 stretches over the opening of the casing 1 and is clamped by the tension adjuster 5 between the casing 1 and the rim 3 . Head 2 is of the type with a large damping factor, so vibrations can be suppressed quickly. The drumhead 2 has a continuous top surface of non-woven elastic elements, so it does not generate any friction sound when vibrating. The drumhead 2 accumulates a large amount of elastic strain energy, and exhibits a large restoring force when struck thereon. This causes the drummer to feel that the strike action is similar to that of a normal drumhead.

[0057] Components 1, 2, 3 and 5 will now be described in more detail. The casing 1 is cylindrical, and is open at both ends thereof to communicate with the air. The drumhead 2 is disc-shaped, and the rim 3 is a...

[0080] Figure 5 Another drum embodiment of the present invention is shown. The drum includes a casing 1A, a drum head 2A, a rim 3A, a tension adjuster 5A, and a bracket 30A. The casing 1A, the drumhead 2A, the rim 3A, and the tension adjuster 5A are similar to 1, 2, 3, and 5 in the first embodiment, and, for this reason, other components and parts are assigned to figure 1 Corresponding parts and parts of the drum shown are identified by reference numerals and will not be described in detail here.

[0081] The stand 30A includes a plurality of holders 30 . The holders 30 are spaced apart at regular intervals and fixed to the inner surface of the casing 1A. Corner plates 30a / 30b, bolts 31 and cushions 33 combine to form each holder 30. The gusset has a horizontal portion 30a and a vertical portion 30b, and the vertical portion 30b is fixed to the inner surface of the casing 1A by means of bolts 31 . The cushion 33 is made of sponge, soft synthetic resin or rubber, and is p...

[0084] Image 6 Another drum embodiment of the present invention is shown. The drum implementing the third embodiment includes a casing 1B, a drum head 2B, a rim 3B, and a tension adjuster 5B. The casing 1B, the drum head 2B, the rim 3B and the tension adjuster 5B are similar to 1, 3 and 5 in the first embodiment, and the components and parts are assigned to figure 1 Corresponding parts and parts of the drum shown are identified by reference numerals and will not be described in detail again.

[0085]The drumhead 2B includes a solid portion 21', a rigid portion 21c, an elastic portion 21b, and a local vibration portion 22B. The solid portion 21', the rigid portion 21c, and the elastic portion 21b are similar to those of the drumhead 2, and will not be described further below for the sake of brevity. The local vibration part 22B also includes an accumulation part 22 and a bottom plate 25, and an intervening sheet 28 is added to the local vibration part 22B. The pillars 23 a...

Abstract

A drum head (2) is broken down into a head body (21), which in turn is broken down into a solid portion (21') and an accumulating portion (22), and a rigid base plate (25); the solid portion (21') offers a beaten surface (21a) to a drummer, and the accumulating portion (22) or an array of pillars (23) and the base plate (25) form in combination a locally vibratory portion (22a); when a drummer strikes the beaten surface (21a) with a stick, the solid portion (21') caves in for accumulating a part of the impact load, and gives rise to resilient deformation of the pillars (23) beneath the cave so that another part of the impact load is accumulated in the deformed pillars (23) as the elastic strain energy; the elastic strain energy is released through the local vibrations of the pillars (23), and the vibration energy is transmitted to a small amount of the air therearound so that the noise is faint.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a percussion instrument, in particular to a percussion pad, a percussion instrument equipped with the percussion pad, a percussion instrument group and an electronic percussion system utilizing the percussion instrument. Background technique [0002] Drums are the most typical example of percussion instruments. Drums are divided into two categories. Although these two types of drums have their own drum heads that are struck by the drummer, the beats are produced by different processes. In a drum the head acts as a pad, and the terms "pad" and "skin" are synonymous with the head. Drums in the first category, hereinafter referred to as "acoustic drums", are produced by the vibration of the drumhead. Drums in another category, on the other hand, are called "electronic drums," and drum sounds are produced by electronic data processing that is repeatedly triggered when the drumhead is struck. Drums produced by the vibration of t...
