[0017]Embodiments described herein provide a system in which a publisher of a website may subscribe to a distribution site in order to receive transactional advertisements for their web site. In particular, one form of transactional advertisement is coupon content, which, under an embodiment, is delivered from a distribution site to a publisher website (or other web property) in a manner that enables a user of the web property (i.e. the consumer) to act on and use (e.g., print) the coupon content. Abstract

A system and method is provided for distributing transactional advertisement from a distribution site over a network to online publishers. The transactional data items are rendered by the online publishers, with control elements provided from the distribution site, to control use of the transactional data items on the user terminal.
