Abstract

The invention provides a touch panel device capable of suppressing the influence of reflected waves on a terminal to reduce the variation of excitation intensity of a surface acoustic wave without using a terminating resistance. An excitation transducer comprises two electrodes (22) and (23) in which at least one electrode is a pectinate electrode (23) with a plurality of pectinate electrode branches (24) and a linear bus electrode (25) connected with one end of each of the plurality of pectinate electrode branches. When the transducer is divided into two areas in the length direction of the bus electrode (25), at least one connection portion (SB) for one of the two electrodes (22) and (23) is arranged in one of the two areas, while at least one connection portion (SB) for the other electrode is arranged in the other area.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a touch panel device that detects the attenuation position of a surface acoustic wave caused by contact with an object to detect the contact position of the object, and is used, for example, as an input device for a personal computer or a portable information terminal. Background technique [0002] As an input device such as a personal computer, a mobile computer, or a personal digital assistant (PDA: Personal Digital Assistant), a touch panel device for inputting information by touching a finger or a pen on the display surface of a display device is often used. [0003] As such a touch panel device, there are a touch panel device using a resistive film and a touch panel device using a surface acoustic wave (SAW: Surface Acoustic Wave). In the touch panel device of the resistive film system, since a multilayer resistive film is formed on the touch area, the light is disturbed and the transmittance is low. In a surface ...
