Embodiment Construction

[0037]Next, referring to the drawings, a brake mechanism for an opening-closing cover to which the present invention is applied will be described.

[0038] Before describing the brake mechanism, a printer having an access cover to which the brake mechanism of the present invention can be applied will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5 .

[0039] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the external appearance of the printer, FIG. 2 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view thereof, and FIG. 3 is a schematic longitudinal sectional view in a state where an access cover is opened. The printer 1 has a rectangular frame-shaped housing body 2 covering its surrounding sides, an opening and closing cover 3 covering the front side of the printer, and an opening and closing cover 4 covering the rear side of the printer. These parts constitute the printer casing. In the printer casing, a printer unit 11 is built in, and a recording paper discharge port 5 is formed at a position between ...

Abstract

In this brake mechanism 100 for the opening cover 4 in a printer 1, a cam follower 170 is interlocked with opening action of the opening cover 4 to slide cam surfaces 121-124. To rotation quantity of the opening cover 4, oscillation quantity of the cam follower 170 by the cam surface 121 is smaller than oscillation quantity of the cam follower 170 by the cam surfaces 124 and 123. When the opening cover 4 is opened and closed, the cam follower 170 slides the cam surface 121 in a lockable state, so that smaller break force is applied to the opening cover 4 to prevent incomplete closure of the opening cover 4. After unlocking, the cam follower 170 slides the cam surfaces 124 and 123 to add larger brake force, so that quick opening of the opening cover 4 is prevented.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a braking mechanism for applying a braking force so as not to violently open and close an opening and closing cover of a roll paper storage unit or the like of a roll paper printer. Background technique [0002] On the opening and closing cover installed on electronic equipment such as printers, there is a brake mechanism to prevent it from being opened and closed violently. As the braking mechanism, there are known mechanisms that apply a braking force to the hinge of the opening and closing cover by the frictional force generated by the spring force of the coil spring (Patent Documents 1 and 2), or form a brake on the hinge of the opening and closing cover. A mechanism that applies a braking force to a hinge portion of an opening-closing cover using a kinetic friction force generated between the sliding surface and a frictional sliding portion that slides along the sliding surface of a predetermined curved surface (Pa...
