According to embodiments of the present invention, pending events may be considered for conflicts when scheduling new events. In this regard, pending events may be considered for conflicts and potential conflicts may be raised for the end user's attention before accepting invitations to new events. Likewise, open events can be considered for conflicts, and potential conflicts can be raised for the end user's attention, before an invitation to a new event is issued. In this way, not only scheduled events that have been processed will be considered with regard to conflict management and resolution, but also planned but still unscheduled events may be considered.
