Abstract
An expandable measurement method which supports the application of high bandwidth video of Internet belongs to the technical field of the network performance measuring method. The invention is characterized in that an inquiry method for the number of autonomous zone with IP address, an inquiry method for the name of zone with the number of autonomous zone and a testing performance ranking on the testing server are added. The server which has optimum testing performance in each autonomous zone can be taken as a preferred server that provides automatic measurement along each autonomous zone on the transmission path. The subscriber can find a measuring server which can provide a certain item of measurement service in each autonomous zone through a zone name mapping service. The subscriber adopts an active mode and a reflecting mode which combine the service with the application system of client system. The measurement method for intercommunicating network with the application is effectively realized. The description languages used by the video application subscriber, the application system engineer and the network engineer to the network problem are unified. A surrounding which has the advantage of full time automatic and distributed independent measurement is established. The measurer is provided with a data report based on the command line and a subjective evaluation based on video / audio.
