The attendance calculating device comprises an attendance rule display unit, an attendance rule selection unit, an attendance range display unit, an attendance range selection unit and a calculating unit and is used for calculating attendance data received by the attendance range selection unit within an attendance range by utilizing an attendance rule received by the attendance range display unit. The attendance calculating method comprises the following steps of: providing a selectable attendance rule list for a user; receiving the attendance rule selected from the attendance rule list by the user; providing a selectable attendance range list for the user; receiving the attendance range selected from the attendance range list by the user; and calculating the attendance data selected by the user within the attendance range by utilizing the attendance rule selected by the user. The embodiment of the invention can be applied to more flexibly calculating an attendance, improving the calculating efficiency and meeting the requirements of users.
