[0021] In the prior art magnetic conveyor system 10, as figure 1 As best shown, the magnetic coupling 12 mounted to the conveyor belt 14 includes a stationary magnet 15 magnetically coupled to a ferromagnetic member 16 of a sample rack 17 for moving the sample rack along a conveyor surface 18 . The sample rack 17 carries one or more sample containers 19 and comprises on its bottom a ferromagnetic member 16, eg a steel plate. Increasing the strength of the delivery magnets will improve delivery reliability. The inventors herein realized that this prior art system would accelerate the sample holder 17 unacceptably quickly as the magnet 15 of the magnetic coupling 12 approaches the sample holder 17 as the field strength of the transport magnet increases. This causes the sample holder 17 to bounce towards the magnetic coupling 12 and to spill the sample fluid contained in the open sample container 19 .
