Abstract

A system and method for detecting piracy of software products distributed on specific media types is described. Embodiments of the present invention track the title load time of a software product distributed on a particular media type and compare it to a baseline load time for that media type. This comparison is used to detect whether the title has been illegally transferred or pirated to another unauthorized media type.
